These joint interface antibiotic guidelines have been produced for General Practitioners within NHS Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group as a simple guide to antimicrobial prescribing.
Much of the advice has come from the Public Health England (PHE) template guidelines and the Clinical Knowledge Summaries Service (CKS - the successor to Prodigy) which are both evidence based. However local antibiotic sensitivity data has been used to provide advice specific to the local area at this time.
The Consultant Medical Microbiologists at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are always happy to help general practice colleagues and are available during office hours on the number on: 0161 922 4086.
Since the development of these guidelines an APP has been created to enable GPs to gain easy access of the ever evolving guidelines at all times.
