Encouraging kids to get healthy and active over the summer holidays has never been easier thanks to some great ideas from Change4Life.
Roadshows will be touring Tameside to demonstrate the Change4Life Food Smart app, which allows children and families to scan barcodes to check the saturated fat, salt and sugar content in their favourite foods – a helpful activity during school holiday supermarket trips!
Parents and carers can also keep children entertained and moving with Change4Life’s 10 minutes shakeups, which provide fun Disney themed games and activities. There are plenty to choose from and they are also suitable for playing inside on rainy days.
Tameside Council Executive Member responsible for heath Cllr Ged Cooney said: “The school holidays are an ideal opportunity to get children to think about getting healthier – be it trying healthier new foods or being active. Change4Life has some great and fun ideas to get you started and hopefully make changes that will benefit the whole family in the long term.”
