New Tameside and Glossop Buddy Scheme

Tameside and Glossop Strategic Commission* is pleased to announce the launch of the care home managers buddy scheme. This is a supportive arrangement between new and existing residential/nursing care home managers who can offer support from their wealth of experience and knowledge and be the main point of contact for general queries regarding day to day operational issues. The scheme will run for an initial six month period.

Tameside Council Executive Leader Cllr Brenda Warrington said: “I am delighted that we are in a position to roll out this voluntary scheme which will help new residential/nursing care home managers become accustomed to the challenges, demands and expectations of their new role.

“The position of a care home manager is a key leadership role within a residential care setting.  The buddy scheme will assist in ensuring we have effective quality leaders within the care home settings in our borough.”

*In 2017/2018 NHS Tameside and Glossop CCG formed the Strategic Commission with Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and have worked closely with colleagues at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust to support their development towards becoming an Integrated Care Organisation.
