    Free NHS resources to improve mental health and wellbeing

    Feeling AnxiousALL adults living in Tameside and Glossop who are struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood or having trouble sleeping can access free NHS Better Health Every Mind Matters resources to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
     
    NHS Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is encouraging residents to take action and use the resources available to protect and improve their mental wellbeing during COVID-19, in support of World Mental Health Day on Sunday 10 October.
     
    All age groups experience mental health problems but require support in slightly different ways.  A person’s physical health and mental health are connected and those with long term health conditions or long COVID may be facing specific challenges.
     
    The past 18 months have been a period of uncertainty for everyone and many people may be struggling with employment, finance issues, feeling worried about going ‘back to normal’ since lockdown lifted or finding change difficult, but there are little things that people can do to look after their mental health and wellbeing.
     
    A great first step is to access the free personalised NHS-approved Mind Plan.  By answering five simple questions, adults will get a personalised action plan with practical tips to help them deal with stress and anxiety, boost their mood, sleep better and feel more in control.  This enables people to create their own mental health action plan, giving them the simple, practical actions they can take to look after their mental wellbeing.  This includes optional ongoing support via a four-week email journey. 
     
    This is complemented by the COVID-19 content hub, which includes tips and support on coping with money worries, job uncertainty and how to ease back into socialising at your own pace.
     
    The Better Health - Every Mind Matters website also has a range of dedicated support and resources to help parents look after the mental wellbeing of their children and for young people to care for their own mental health.
