Second CRISTAL care awards launches in Tameside and Glossop

Cristal AwardsNominations are set to open for the 2021 CRISTAL care awards to celebrate remarkable and inspirational stars, teams and leaders in Tameside and Glossop.
Organisers are calling for eligible people to nominate those in the care sector that they feel deserve an award.
Following the success of the inaugural awards in October 2019, NHS Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), in partnership with Tameside Council and Derbyshire County Council, are looking to find the best of Tameside and Glossop’s care sector staff and care organisations.
    Those eligible to nominate must:
    • work within an independent Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered care provider in Tameside and Glossop - care workers, colleagues, managers and carers, or senior management of the organisation that owns the care home
    • be a health or social care professional with links to the care delivery - social workers, GP, district nurse, any other visiting professionals - excluding commissioning and regulating colleagues
    • be a family or friend of a person receiving care
There are 7 award categories and those eligible can nominate any individual, team or organisation who is employed by an independent provider delivering care within a care home, with or without nursing, a domiciliary care organisation and/or a supported living scheme situated within Tameside or Glossop.
Nominations will run from 4 May until 4 June.  A panel of judges will meet to discuss nominations in July with shortlisted finalists notified by late summer.
Local businesses are also encouraged to get involved and can donate raffle prizes or pay for a business advert in the awards ceremony brochure to be distributed on the night.
The awards ceremony is expected to take place on Friday 15 October 2021 at Dukinfield Town Hall subject to COVID-19 government guidelines. Alternatively the event will be held virtually online.
Dr Ashwin Ramachandra, Co-Chair at NHS Tameside and Glossop CCG, said: “This year more than ever due to the pandemic, we want people to recognise and celebrate the personal, innovative and dedicated work that takes place in our care sector which benefits people receiving care across Tameside and Glossop from an independent provider.”
