The NHS in Tameside and Glossop wants to hear from as many people as possible as part of a renewed drive to improve services.
Cllr Eleanor Wills, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Health, Social Care and Population Health explains: “We want people who deliver care to have conversations with the people they support or care for about ‘What matters to you?’
“And we’re encouraging members of the public to tell the NHS about what matters to them. We want to listen, learn and improve together.”
Members of the public can comment using pre-paid postcards which are available in a number of locations including GP surgeries, libraries and children’s centres for people to complete and return.
There’s also an online form inviting comments, asking about the things that are important to people or what they would like to achieve as a result of their health and social care support - to help the NHS do its job more effectively.
There’s also a video in British Sign Language, and members of the public will be able to comment at events to be held during coming weeks, including a Patient Participation Group event at Ashton Market on Tuesday 11 June, from 10am-3pm.
The “What matters to you” campaign is a nationwide effort, and Tameside and Glossop Strategic Commission (the Council and the Clinical Commissioning Group) works closely with a range of partners to help learn from public feedback with a view to continuous improvement. The Council will be promoting “What matters to you” at the next Partnership Engagement Network (PEN) conference taking place on 25 June at Hyde Town Hall.
