Our Joint Strategy for Carers has been developed in partnership with carers, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council (TMBC) and the voluntary sector. It sets out a number of actions to support carers in Tameside and Glossop.
In order to deliver this agenda, we have developed a robust action plan to ensure services work for both service users and their carers. The Joint Strategy for Carers 2011-14 demonstrates our commitment to carers and seeks to build on the existing work done locally and reinforces the National Carers' Strategy which sets out the government's vision for carers support.
In line with national vision this joint strategy will provide a framework for identifying needs and commissioning the best possible services. It gives us direction for developing local support and services for carers over the next three years and beyond. The strategy will be reviewed in 2016/17.
